The Colombian amusement park Parque del Café opened with “Yippe” a new catapult roller coaster for families, manufactured by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides.

After being shot down by friction wheels on the rails, the passengers drive on a route with many ascents, descents, and turns.

It was important for the operators to equip the roller coaster with highlights of fountain technology. Shortly after the launch, the railway “falls” into a flywheel, surrounding a battery of compressed-air powered AquaShooters. These active fountains shoot up to 20 meters high accompanied by a rushing and hissing bang.

The train then passes through a tunnel of laminar nozzles. Developed especially for this use, these nozzles form a crystal-clear water jet without splashing from the side. Despite the massive vibration of the train, the passengers remain absolutely dry.

Shortly before the finish line, the track passes the lowest point on the route. The passenger should get the impression that the train is driving through a pool of water and creating a splash effect. This was again generated by AquaShooters on both sides of the track, which shoot the water with a time delay and absolute synchronicity up to 20 meters high.

To complete the water attraction lane, a central water fountain forms the basis of the lane. A special construction, consisting of single beam nozzles and one multi-cluster nozzle, generates a gigantic fountain which should already impress the waiting guests.
